Front: Mrs Eleanor Silvester and her children Ida, Vera and Ernie in front of 'Mrs. Silvester Cash Store'. Wooden houses and party ereced picket fence is visible in the background on the right.
Ida wears a little white dress and black stockings. Vera wears dress with white smock and clutches her mother's skirt. Mrs Eleanor Silvester wears a dark dress and Ernie wears short dark trousers and jacket, white collar, boots and hat. A black puppy is lying on the ground behind the group, partly obscured by a pillar. Road in front is unsealed.
Reverse on copy (#3): Handwritte note: 'Shop at 313 Hay Street, Subiaco. Mrs E. Silvester. Photograph taken about 1896. Vera Silvester (youngest), Ida Silvester approx. 5 years old (died aged 11 years, 9 months from rheumatic fever. Mother nursed Ida for near on 6 years, so she must have contracted fever about time photograph was taken).
Ernest Silvester (brother) - see Ernie's delivery cart at side of shop'.
