Overview

The black and white photograph features Katie dressed in 'Fairy' costume for a Fancy Dress ball. Handwritten inscription on back reads: 'Mother made dress of white cotton lawn-style of material. Oldest sister May Silvester embroidered sequi and & beads on dress and made head-d and s & belt of elaborate beading work. (May Silvester and Mr. Dingle were singing partners and often entertained at the Kings Hall.)' Dress has long sleeves cut away to represent wings. Katie wears and rls & a heart-shaped locket around her neck and slippers with bows. The photograph was taken out of doors with a background of leaves. Museum holds copy of original photograph.
