Sepia photograph

Front: Katie is standing with her right hand resting on a small stone ornamental pillar with a plant decoration. She has flowers in her hair, wears a pearl choker and heart-shaped locket and a flower corsage.

Reverse: Handwritten note on copy (#2): 'Photo of Catherine Alice (Katie) Silvester, aged 16 (1903), attending her first ball at Government House. Dress sewn by Mrs Brown. Material cream cashmere, satin ribbon trim, pin tucked with silk-stitched work. White gloves a must!'
