Overview

Finely executed cutwork tray cloth, illustrated the technique popular in the Embroiderers’ Guild of WA in the 1990s and taught by founder, Rusty Walkley and Group tutors.

This was Lettie’s own design for an oval mat. Daffodils and leaves in cutwork around the perimeter 1990. Lettie enjoyed cutwork. On one occasion, patroness of Guild was Mrs. Julie Michael, wife of Governor of WA, Ken Michael. Gerry Harvey, Guild President, wished to give patroness a gift on her visit to Guild House. Gerry chose a piece of cutwork by Lettie.
