LACE, MALTESE, COLLAR
This Maltese lace collar was worn by donor’s grandmother Fanny Gooch, who married in 1890 and who with her husband was one of the pioneer settlers in the Gascoyne region of WA.
Also worn by her mother, Maud Waite.
Square collar with scalloped edge having Maltese crosses in alternating scallops.
Most of collar consists of square grid with spider web design set in square. Five Maltese crosses in collar,
2 each side and one in centre. Neck edge has band of wheat ear design in shape of 4 petaled flower.
