A sepia postcard of a brick two storey tower and next to it is a stone building with a tin roof. Along the side of the brick tower are five men in work clothes, the man on the right is holding a hand saw. In front of the buildings are newly planted grape vines.

Inscriptions and markings

On the front of the postcard in the top right corner in dark typed lettering is "View New Distillery Great Southern Vineyards F & C. PIESSE Katanning".

On the back of the postcard printed in blue lettering is "POST CARD" and underneath this line are two columns with a heading for the left hand column of "FOR CORRESPONDENCE" and the right hand column of "FOR ADDRESS ONLY" and in the top right hand corner a square with the words "PLACE POSTAGE STAMP HERE" in the square. On the left vertical side of the postcard in blue lettering is "N.P.G. PRINTED IN BERLIN FOR POWELL & SON."
