The man beside her is thought to be Reg Cargeeg. The bridesmaid is seated on the right. The men are all wearing high-collared white shirts and bow ties with high buttoning dark suits with small floral buttonholes. The women are in full length, high-necked, long- sleeved, soft dresses. The bride's hair is softly piled under a veil; the bridesmaid's is topped by a large, elaborately trimmed hat. Both hold very large bouquets. There is a studio backdrop behind the group and the original was in an embossed mount.

Historical information

Born in South Australia, Leonard was the son of George and Lousia Cargeeg. Educated at Perth Boys and Scotch College WA, he became an accountant.

The Cargeeg Family first lived in Adelaide Tce and later Stirling Street, Perth, before purchasing The Grange in 1907. They subsequently sold parts of the large property through 'Cargeeg Bros Real Estate' which was a business belonging to sons Harold and Garfield and then in 1913, exchanged 11 acres for a farming property Parkfield for sons Victor and Reginald

Leonard and his brother Garfield were partners in a shop in Greenbushes. In 1908 Leonard bought a shop from Grace Brothers and married their sister Mary Sarah Grace. The couple had children: Vera, George, Grace, Harold, Maybelle (Polly) and Frank.

He sold the shop (in Pingelly?) c1915 to run the business side of the family farm Parkfield after brothers, Vic and Reg were overseas due to WWI. He also enlisted for service in WWI but was rejected due to health problems.
