(b) Image shows a similar image to (a), he is wearing a dark jacket, with a darker high buttoned waistcoat, and no tie pin. (c) Similar to (b), he is wearing a light coloured checked jacket with a diagonally stiped tie. Printed beneath [CROOKS 1946-47]. (d) Same outfit and pose as (c) however no moustache. Printed beneath [CROOKS 1950-51]. (e) Image shows an older clean shaven man with receding and greying hair, wearing a dark jacket with a dark tie and tie pin. Printed beneath [CROOKS 1954-1955]. (f) Image shows a smiling A Crooks wearing a similar outfit to (e). Printed beneath [CROOKS 57/58 to 60/61]. (g) Image shows an older A Crooks, with grey/white hair that has receded. He is clean shaven, wearing a dark jacket and waistcoat with a dark spotted tie and tie pin. Printed beneath [CROOKS 1964-65].

Historical information

Albert William Crooks was the son of James and Jessie Duff Crooks. He was an honorary inspector for the Department of Agriculture with regards to preventing the spread of stickfast fleas, an accountant and Councillor from 1930-32, 1933-1939, 1941-1953 and Mayor of Claremont in 1957-1961.

Married to Miriam Florence Tomlain and had two children: Miriam Lucille (b.1914) and William Raymond (b. 1919). The family lived in Bay Road.
