Historical information

Harold William Crommelin was born in West Perth on 9 April 1903 to Maud and Arthur Crommelin. He attended the Hale School.

Harold worked in the farming industry around the wheatbelt along with at his own property Elderslie in the Pingelly area.

He married Peggy Noreen Taylor in 1926 and lived in Edward Street, Nedlands and then at 33 Queenslea Drive. Sons Terry and Barry. Harold was the Commodore of the Clarmeont Yacht Club, a member of the Claremont Football Club and a member of the Claremont Amateur Swimming Club.

Harold joined the liberal party in 1939 and was a Councillor for the Municipality of Claremont from 1953-1963. He was elected to the WA Legislative Assembly in 1956, serving until 1968.
