TOOL: ROPE CUTTER
Tight U-shaped blade stamped 'J. Rodger and Sons', set into a wooden handle and held in place by a copper collar. One leg of the U has a sharp cutting edge and ends in a sharp point. There is a slight depression where the string, twine or rope is held when passing through the narrow aperture of the U. The wooden handle is cylindrical and tapers slightly towards the blade to allow a good grip between thumb and index finger.
Wood and steel.
