HAT BOX: TIN
Metal hat box, cylindrical [flattened oval] in shape. It has a hinged lid with a handgrip of wire covered with a wooden tube. Lid is fastened with a brass latch which provides for both lock and key [both missing]. The lid is decorated with indentations and striations following its outline. Painted chocolate brown outside and teal blue inside. The box was intended mainly for carrying hats when travelling.
