Historical information

Ticket to the 1980 Burns Dinner held by the Armadale Mundijong Caledonian Society at the Armadale District hall on Jull Street on January 26. The society would have held the event from the 1950s through the early 1980s. The Armadale Mundijong Caledonian Society was formed in 1940 as the Mundijong and Districts Caledonian Society and ran through to 1983.

Statement of significance

Ticket to the 1977 Burns Dinner which was once a prominent event in the COA (c1950s-1980s) often held at the Armadale Hall by the Mundijong & districts Caledonian Society. The Mundijong and Districts Caledonian Society was founded in 1940 to celebrate Scottish heritage and culture. Several families of Scottish heritage lived in the wider area and supported the society. The Mundijong & District Caledonian Society also formed a Scottish Pipe music band that operated for many years. The society folded in 1983 due to falling membership.
