BRASS PLAQUE CENTENARY OF FEDERATION MEMORIAL
Rectangular brass plaque, erected as a Centenary of Federation Memorial, to the Italian immigrants of the area . Top centre is the coat of arms of Armadale, which is a round belt with text on it [City of Armadale]. The area inside the belt divided into three. Top section is an image of the Narrogin Inn, bottom left section is an image of an orchard, bottom right is an image of a river.
Bellow the coat of arms is engraved text featuring the plaque title and a list of officials and dignitaries who attended the unveiling.Text [CENTENARY OF FEDERATION MEMORIAL / Officially unveiled by / His Excellency Dino Volpicelli, Italian Ambassador. / In the presence of His Worship the Mayor, Cr L. There is a drill hole in each corner for mounting.
The original plaque from the Italian Migrant Stature which was replaced in 2018 by the City of Armadale. The statue was commissioned by the Southern Region Italo-Australian community Foundation for the Centenary of Federation celebrations in 2001. The statue, designed by Andrew Kay was unveiled on 9 December 2001 by His Excellency Dino Volpicelli the Italian Ambassador to Australia as a tribute to the contribution Italian migrants had made to Western Australia.
The plaque was replaced in 2018 at the request of members of the local Italian community as it failed to acknowledge the roll played by Giovanni Mazzega, Antonio Cutri and Rudolf Barzotto in initiating the project and getting it off the ground.

The original plaque from the Tribute to Italian Migrants statue located in Sanctuary Lake (Armadale Road opposite side to Minnawarra Park), designed by Andrew Kay and unveiled by the Italian Ambassador to Australian His Excellency Dino Volicelli on 9 December 2001.
The plaque commemorates the special guests who attended the unveiling and the statues artist and us associated with the Italian migrants who came to the local district to start new lives and their descendent who raised the money to commission the artwork.
