Poster used to advertise a Caledonian Party Night held by the Armadale Mundijong Caledonian Society at the R.S.L. Hall in Armadale on 29 November 1980. Tickets cost $2 and children were free. The party included dancing, singing, games and prizes.

Statement of significance

MEDIUM: This hand made poster was used to advertise a Caledonian Party Night at the RSL Hall in Armadale on 29 November 1980. The event was held by the Armadale Mundijong Caledonian Society which had formed in 1940 and had for 40 years promoted Scottish culture in the district. The party included a mixture of Scottish dances, songs as well as games and prizes. As demonstrated by the home made nature of the poster, this was a casual fun event where party goers were asked to bring their own supper. The RSL would provide bar service as well as tea and coffee.
