Circular bronze metal Australian School Children's 1945 Commemorative Victory Medal.
The obverse features a stylized figure or knight brandishing a sword above his head, standing in front of an outline map of Australia. The year 1945 is impressed at the bottom.
The reverse depicts a map of the Southern Hemisphere including Australia at the top, Antarctica in the centre, and New Zealand, South America and Southern Africa around the lower sides.The oceans between the land masses feature a a sailing ship and the word 'VICTORY' on the left, the word 'MEDAL' on the right and a whale and the maker's mark on the lower side. The letter 'C' appears in the centre.
On both sides, a wavy line is used to indicate water.
There is an attached metal loop at the top through which a metal ring is threaded. A ribbon would have been inserted through the ring with a pin for suspension.
