Gold tone slouch hat sweetheart brooch
Overview
Gold tone slouch hat sweetheart brooch or tie pin. It features a depiction of an Australian Imperial Force slouch hat with the brim turned up on one side (as traditionally worn).
The hat is facing down and attached to a horizontal bar with a pin clasp on the reverse.
The slouch hat and bar are painted gold, some of which is wearing off to reveal the base metal. There are no maker's marks.
Historical information
Photo lockets, pendants and sweetheart brooches were very popular during wartime and there are a large number of them in the collection.
The date of manufacture is unknown and could be from either World War One or Two.
