Overview

Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) Australia bronze and enamel membership badge. It features detailed outspread pilot wings flanking a central circular area of blue enamel with the letters 'AOPA' embedded within.
A laurel wreath extends around the underside of the enamel area and a bronze metal map of mainland Australia with lines marking the states is above it.
The reverse has a buttonhole attachment in the shape of a crescent moon. There is a maker's mark on the flat surface below the attachment.

Historical information

Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) Australia was established in 1949 to advocate for general aviation safety and freedoms.
These stylised winged metal badges were issued to registered members from that time on.
