A large black and white photo of the interior display in the Old Gaol parlour.
From left to right is the fireplace over which is a carved wooden mantle piece upon which is a vase, an open leaf decorated fan, bookends with a book, an embroidered sewing shade and a glass kerosene light.
On the wall above is a wooden framed mirror and a wooden picture frame.
On the fire hearth is a doll (sitting) wearing a bonnet and long dress with another garment with a large lace trim draped across the fire screen behind her. Further along the Toodyay Stone floor to the left corner is a whatnot with various ornaments. Next is a female model dressed in an ankle length frock and shawl and wearing a necklace. A lace handkerchief is in her left hand. Central to the back wall is a sideboard apon which is a mantle clock, a silver boiled egg container, a china vase and a silver tea service. Above on the wall are two carved crests, in between which is a framed painting of flowers. To the right corner is another female model wearing a floor length dark dress and a darker shawl. On her head is a feathered hat which ties under the chin. She is holding something which has a long tassel. A spinning wheel is in the lower right corner

Historical information

A different photograph, taken at a slightly different angle, of this display featured in the 1965 Christmas card sent by the Honourable J.F. Craig MLA and Mrs. Craig. James Frederick Craig was the Chief Secretary and Minister for Police and Traffic.
