Overview

Black and white photograph of Hawthornden homestead in Toodyay.
Photograph shows left-side and front of two story building with picket style balustrade both on the second floor balcony and the ground floor.
A short stone wall encompasses the front of the building and stone steps lead up to the front entrance centred on the ground floor. The entrance is flagged by two tall pencil pines.
The roof of the building is corrugated iron and two chimneys can be clearly seen. Both sides of the building have two story structure add-ons. The entire building appears to be painted white. To the right of the building is an outbuilding, also white.
In the foreground are two trees, one of which appears to be a Jam tree. The grounds closer to the building appear to be of mown grass, the foreground grass is un-mown.
In the distant background there is a hill to the left hand side covered in trees.
