A full page published cartoon in the Western Mail Christmas number, featuring eight separate cartoonlets of a farmer, having problems feeding a pig, ending with the pig chasing the farmer. Captions read; 1.Our Minister For Lands. Mining's my forte but (2)I"ll show the cockeys that i know something (3) About pork (4)"What?" Historical information

Ben Strange was a cartoonist for the Western Mail from 1898 to 1930. The cartoon features John Marquis Hopkins MLA, the member for Boulder and Minister for Lands. As minister for lands he received regular delegations from across WA regarding improvements needed for the pastoral and agricultural industry as well as requests to free up land around places like Boulder for community facilities to be built. At this time Hopkins was also dealing with the end of an outbreak of Swine Fever.
