BOX OF HAND MADE DECORATIONS (UNFINISHED)

Overview

A rectangular clear plastic box with a green lid, containing various objects used in the decoration of Jack's work. Parts include, two cardboard leaves of different sizes numbered 3 & 8, a partly carved gum nut, a wooden toothpick, pointed at one end and flattened like a screwdriver on the other, two small bundles of bristle, cream with reddish ends,one carved gum nut with an assembled flower, and five assorted pieces of plastic

Historical information

Jack was a prolific wood turner, who worked from his studio in Wungong, turning out many pieces of sculpture. Many of his tools were either made by him or customized to perform a particular function. This box contains unfinished decorations and templates which were added to his artworks which were inspired by the surrounding Australian natural landscape.

HIGH
Jack de Voss (1942-2017) was a prolific self taught and international known wood turner, who worked from his studio in Wungong, turning out many pieces of sculpture. He won a variety of awards for his work and his work feature in a variety of public and private collections. His work was inspired by his love of the Western Australian bush and his faith in God.
