GALLOP JOHN RICHARD
c. 1878B/W print of a sepia, head and shoulder, studio portrait of a young man. His hair is neatly brushed back and he is wearing a double-breasted jacket over a white shirt and bow tie. The oval image appears to have been framed in grey card, mounted on cream card with a fine tan border. At the base are the printed words [Album] and [Portrait] on either side of the Australian coat of arms.
Son of James and Elizabeth Gallop. He died of Low fever (Typhoid) at Geraldton on 1 May, 1880. Original photos were in a family bible on loan to the Museum.
