Overview

B/W copy of sepia studio portrait of a young woman sitting leaning on a a fur covered support. Her hair is parted in the centre and swept back and she is wearing drop earings. Her high-necked, long-sleeved,dark outfit is buttoned to the neck which is finished with a brooch and lace.

Historical information

Born in 1857. Daughter of James and Elizabeth Gallop. Married Captain Henry Hill Smith at St John's Fremantle on 23 May, 1885. Lived at 35 Leake St, Peppermint Grove. Original photos were in a family bible on loan to the Museum.
