GALLOP CHARLES
c. 1880B/W copy of sepia head and shoulders portrait of a man in rather ill fitting, double breasted jacket. His wavy hair is swept back and he has a short, thick beard and a moustache. The oval image is mounted in card with a fine line border.
Son of James and Elizabeth Gallop. Born in 1849. Married Jane Woods in 1885. Children: Charles Clarence Victor (b.1886), Douglas Everard (b.1889), George Hampton (b. 1892) and Harold Willie (b. 1887). Was a fruiterer in Hay Street. Original photos were in a family bible on loan to the Museum.
