GALLOP GEORGE FREDERICK

A young man, wearing light trousers and a dark jacket with a flower in the buttonhole and a handkerchief in the pocket, over a wing-collared shirt and tie, is leaning nonchantly on a stone pedestal. He is holding his hat in one hand and a twig in the other. To his right is a fur covered object.
Son of James and Elizabeth Gallop. George worked for Messers. J. Lilly & Co who were agents of the Australasian Steam Navigation Company and then for his own business Messers. G F Gallop and Co who were agents for the Archibald Currie line of steamers.
Married (1) Susanna Louise Ranford (d.1909), (2) Emily Maud Ranford (d. 1944). Original photos were in a family bible on loan to the Museum.
