B/w photo-reproduction of Donegan's Store as it stood in Stirling Terrace, Newcastle (now known as Toodyay).
Photo shows storefront, ornamental parapet, sign 'TJ Donegan Produce Merchant & Universal Provider' Shows four men and one boy.
The boy and one man are in shopkeeper's uniform.

Historical information

It is unknown how this image came to be stored in the Museum Workshop however it was assigned an earlier accession number of TCH 83:191. In terms of intellectual property, the Battye Library owns the copyright of this image and as it must be referenced as such if the image is displayed. It is worth noting that this image is found in Erickson’s Old Toodyay and Newcastle.

Contextual Information

Part of a group of shops first established on the corner of Clinton Street and Stirling Terrace in the 1880s. (This section of Clinton Street was renamed Piesse Street in the mid 1960s.)
This photograph of was taken in 1902 and by 1906 the store had changed its name to the Newcastle Trading Company.
Some of the shops were demolished in the 1950s and a garage was built.
All the buildings on the site were removed during the 1970s.
