Colour Photo of Charlotte Davis Memorial in Newcastle Park, Stirling Terrace., as it was originally installed.
The memorial in the photo is presented as a large concrete slab, with an adjoining bench constructed of concrete and local Toodyay stone.
Near the top of the memorial is a brass plaque describing the opening of the memorial.
A portion of Newcastle Park and Stirling Terrace can be seen in the background.
On the back of the photo is a handwritten note National Register of Unusual Monuments Charlotte Davis memorial installed 1979 Newcastle Park.
The photo is of good quality and the physical condition is excellent.

Historical information

The Charlotte Davis Memorial Seat was unveiled at Newcastle Park, Toodyay on October 7, 1979.
The other side of memorial has large WA-Shaped slab of granite attached. The granite slab came from the property of donor Walter G. (Wally) Chitty.
The unveiling coincided with a Davis family reunion.
This memorial was later repainted and a new garden installed.

It is unknown who originally owned this photo or how it came to be stored in the Museum Workshop.
In terms of intellectual property it is assumed that they were taken with the intent of recording the memorial for the National Register of Unusual Monuments. It is therefore assumed that these photos are intended to be kept for research or display.
The register involved was created as part of Australia's Bicentennial celebrations and while copies can still be found at the National Library, the register is not believed to still be in effect.
