TOMMY & TOTTIE FERGUSON, STIRLING TERRACE, TOODYAY

c. 1950 - 1959
Subcollections
Overview

Colour photo of Stirling Terrace looking towards Victoria Hotel. Image shows horse & sulky, with elderly couple, Mr Tommy (Thomas William) and Mrs Tottie (Elvia Martha) Ferguson (nee Chitty).
The horse appears to be harnessed in the traditional manner, however the sulky
has a rubber tire instead of the traditional wooden spoke wheel.
The couple are dressed for cool weather.
The buildings along Stirling terrace show varying states of development, however the most significant aspect of this are the shopfronts that were later replaced by the Toodyay Police Station in the 1960s.
This image appears to be from the 1950s - showing old power lines, there is no clock on the Memorial Hall and no Federation Square.
The photo is of good quality and the physical condition is generally good although it has been folded near one edge.
