White rectangle paper with typed black text. The letter is from Secretary W.T. Scott congratulating Mr. E.C. Rushton on his appointment as Deputy Party Leader and Deputy Premier of Western Australia.
The letter was sent to Edgar Cyril Rushton the local member who had also served as Deputy Premier for Ray O'Connor from 1982 to 1983. He was also the Minister of Transport at the time as well as the Patron of the Armadale Kelmscott Caledonian Society. The letter had been sent by W T Scott who was the Honorary Secretary of the society and living at Dale Lodge, The Grove in Armadale.
