Overview

White rectangle paper with blue boarder. At top is a gold coloured Western Australian coat of arms which features two kangaroos flanking a shield with the image of a black swan on it. The kangaroos are also each holding a boomerang. Above the shield is a crown flanked by kangaroo paw flowers. Under the coat of arms is blue text . The letter is from Mr. E.C. Rushton to Secretary W.T. Scott, thanking the Armadale Mundijong Caledonian Society for their congratulations for his new appointment to Deputy Premier of Western Australia. Letter signed bottom right corner by E. C Rushton in blue pen.

Historical information

Edgar Cyril Rushton served as Deputy Premier for Ray O'Connor from 1982 to 1983. He was also the Minister of Transport at the time as well as the Patron of the Armadale Kelmscott Caledonian Society. The letter had been sent to W T Scott who was the Honorary Secretary of the society and living at Dale Lodge, The Grove in Armadale.
