Overview

Green glass tumbler with gold pattern around side. Wavy pattern under gold pattern near base and gold ornamentation on base. Name engraved onto side of glass [Treace / May / Cosgrove / 1913]

Historical information

This tumbler belonged to Teresa 'Treace' May Cosgrove of Armadale around c1913. It was possibly a prize won at a show, either the Royal Perth Show or possibly the Kelmscott show. Ms Cosgrove lived in Armadale on Forrest Road with her parents. In 1925 she married Benjamin Glew at St Francis Xaviers Roman Catholic Church in Armadale.
Treace and Benjamin lived in Armadale for many years. Sometime in the 1960s or 70s they moved to Rivervale where Ben passed away (1973 age 73) and Como where Trease passed away (1979 age 79).
