The Student Representative Council recuperated in the beginning of 1975 after suffering a long and painful illness during 1974.
The Student Council was formed to bring students’ opinions and desires forward to the administration. The Council consists of one representative from each form from Year 8 to Year 12 with prefects representing the latter.
The executives arranged affairs such as printing agenda, chairing the meetings and writing correspondence. One period a week was allocated for lower school, where agenda items could be discussed and representatives informed of class opinions on matters before the councils notice could be bought forward.
During the first term a number of items came up and letters were written to the Education Department requesting such things as the painting of the school, redecoration of classrooms and many general repairs. Contractors began in early July so many of the agenda items will be taken care of.
An effort was made to rally support but it seems once again the Student Council is going into a coma. The exact cause is unknown but rumoured the Council has been poorly supplied with nutritious ideas and sadly lacking interest.
Perhaps it may be extremely frail and lose consciousness completely with the task of survival if the task becomes too great.
