1920Vertical ivory postcard with a black and white horizontal oval image of a lady and a horse in the top section. The lady (left) is wearing a white dress and bonnet and has a woven basket on her left arm. She is smiling at the horse (right) whose head peaks out of the stable. Surrounding this is a decorative floral embossed border. Below the image is a birthday poem in capslock black type which reads: 'YOUR BIRTHDAY / I HOPE / WILL BE HAPPY & BRIGHT, / YOUR MIND FREE FROM CARE / AND YOUR HEART / GAY AND LIGHT; / MAY THE YEARS / THAT ARE COMING / BRING ALL YOU DESIRE / AND EACH DAY SUPPLY YOU / WITH ALL YOU REQUIRE.' To the right of this, vertically reads: 'BEST WISHES / FOR YOUR/ BIRTHDAY'.
Sent to Lillian Dennis by her brother Kenneth for her 24th birthday.
On the reverse is a handwritten message in black ink which reads: 'To Dear Auntie Lil, with love from Kennie Wishing / her Many Happy Returns of / the Day xxxxxxxxxxxxxx / Best Wsihes from the family 7-10-20'
