Tuck's Postcards

Overview

Vertical cream postcard with a coloured image of 5 white calla lillies with three green leaves in a decorative vase. Type in the bottom right corner reads: 'TO WISH / YOU ALL / HAPPINESS / ON YOUR / BIRTHDAY'. The picture is signed in the bottom left; 'Oillette / Price King'.

The reverse has 'TUCK'S POST CARD / CARTE POSTALE' printed across the top long edge with a crest to the left with 'By Appointment' printed underneath. There is space for a stamp in the top right corner. Information about the card is printed along the left short edge which reads:

'FLOWERS IN VASES. Series II / Raphael Tuck & Sons ''OILETTE'' Postcard No. 9987 / ART PUBLISHERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES THE KING & QUEEN'.

A cursive message in black ink reads: 'To My Dear Sister, with / best wishes for a happy / Birthday From / Mary & Bill & Baby / xxxx'
