The cap belongs to Warren Wood who has loaned it to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives. For nearly 40 years Warren has been involved with the West Perth/West Stirling club, both as a player and administrator. He played at club level during the 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s. During those later years his involvement was as a coach, manager, committee member and senior vice-president. In 1978 he was the first person to be awarded a life membership of the West Stirling Baseball Club (formerly West Perth Baseball Club).
A rare and well-provenanced item from a baseball club with a long history in the State league, the cap displays and preserves Western Australia's baseball history and heritage.
