1937 Wests Premiers team commemorative baseball
A 1937 Wests Premiers team commemorative baseball. The ball is made of leather, dark brown in colour, with brown stitching to the seams. Attached to the ball with round-headed metal pins, is a triangular, Sterling silver metal plaque engraved with the name of the team, their achievement and the year. Twelve signatures, in black ink, are written on the ball; nine of them are the premiership team.
This 1937 commemorative baseball is a very rare item from the early years of the state baseball league competition. The Wests Baseball Club was among the first clubs to join the league.
