Historical information

In 1955 the Wests baseball club was renamed West Perth and was relocated to Leederville Oval from Langley Park. In 1972 the club again relocated to Millington Reserve, and in 1976 was renamed West Stirling Baseball Club.

Contextual Information

The cap belonged to Warren Wood who has loaned it to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives. For nearly 40 years Warren has been involved with the West Perth/West Stirling club, both as a player and administrator. He played at club level during the 1940s, 50s, 60s and 70s. During those later years his involvement was as a coach, manager, committee member and senior vice-president. In 1978 he was the first person to be awarded a life membership of the West Stirling Baseball Club.
