Overview

One plate from a collection of fern pattern Wembley Ware plates that are graduated tan and brown from the edges towards cream in the centre.
Dinner plate has two decal decorations of ferns in green, gold and silver/grey, one large and one small on opposite sides of the plate.There are some minor faults in the glaze and the decal decoration where some of the pattern is extremely faint.
Base: Reverse side is cream with three stilt marks. There is a mark in black of 'WEMBLEY QUALITY WARE' with a stylised 'W&B' in the centre and a crown at the top.

Historical information

The plates were purchased in Subiaco by the donor, the 5 dinner plates cost $20, and the 7 entre plates and 1 bread and butter plate cost
