Overview

Rectangle metal sign. Front enamelled yellow with black and red text. Top left and bottom right corners are curved. At top of sign is a logo of a black figure 8 on an angle with white infill. Green dot in middle of bottom half of the 8. On the opposite angle to the 8 is a red diamond and a red diamond with a white centre. Black and red text under logo [harrisdale / green / 451]. Developer logos along bottom.

Historical information

The sign was used in c2005 to identify lot 451 in the Cedar Woods housing estate. At some time around 2005 the sign was taken from the estate and kept in the backyard as a garden ornament. Stephen acquired it of the person who took the sign in c2010.

MEDIUM
The sign was used to identify and advertise lot 451 in the Harrisdale Green housing development in c2005. The lot was developed in a partnership between Cedar Woods and the Western Australian Government Department of Housing. The sign represents the growth of urban development within the western area of the City of Armadale in the early 2000's when large tracks of rural land was turned into suburban housing. Between 2006 and 2021 the population of the City of Armadale grew from 52,300 to 97,700 residents.
