Historical information

On the 25th of March 2017 the Harrisdale Pavilion and Playing Fields were opened to the public in the developing suburb of Harrisdale in the COA. Gazetted in 2007, Harrisdale is one of the new and growing suburbs within the COA and as such requires new public infrastructure such as playing fields for the residents. Part of the day included an event where visitors could visit the stalls of participating clubs and groups, where they would receive a stamp. Once the visitor had a stamp from all of the stalls they would be able to receive a free serving of popcorn.

Statement of significance

MEDIUM
The card was produced to commemorate the opening of the City of Armadale's Harrisdale Pavilion and playing fields on the 25th March 2017. The brochure represents the growth of the City of Armadale and the creation of new residential suburbs such as Harrisdale and their need for community facilities such as the Harrisdale Pavilion and playing fields. Local sporting organisations that are made up of families from the community such as the ARKS Rugby Union Club and the Harrisdale Tee-Ball club utilise the facilities for club functions and sporting events.
