MILES GEORGE JAMES GALLOP WARDEN
c. 1880B/W print of a sepia studio portrait. A small boy wearing a dark velvet suit consisting of a double-breasted jacket and knicker bocker length pants, white socks and dark boots is posed against a backdrop featuring foliage. His right hand is in his pocket and his left, holding a hat, is resting against a rustic wooden studio prop.
Son of Sarah Gallop and William Warden Miles. George was born in Fremantle, 1873. He participated in the Gold rush and lived in Marble Bar. Member of the WA Cricket Association where he was President from 1939 to 1951. Member of the Legislative Council from 1916. Original photos were in a family bible on loan to the Museum.
