Overview

Sheet music entitled 'Life with American Squadron: Descriptive Fantasia' "Specially composed in Honour of the American Fleet" by Harry V. Ingham.
It has a full colour cover depicting the American fleet at sea in the centre of a laurel wreath, American flags either side, American eagle above, and portraits of King Edward VII and U.S. President, Theodore Roosevelt on opposing sides at the bottom.
A list of the compositions included is in the centre at the bottom, as are the publisher's details and price.
An advertisement for Nestle's Milk Food has been stuck to the bottom right corner.

On the back page are the final two variations - 'Meeting of the Admirals (Auld Lang Syne)' and 'Rule Britannia' - in blue writing on a cream background.

Historical information

The Great White Fleet was the name given to the group of United States Navy battleships that completed a journey around the globe from December 16, 1907, to February 22, 1909, by order of President Theodore Roosevelt.
It comprised 16 white-painted battleships divided into two squadrons, along with various small escorts.
