The black and white photo [companion to 1986.711] shows junction of Rokeby Road and Hay Street.

The Subiaco Hotel at left features a full-length tow and & balcony verandah that extends over the pavement.

Con's Valuhouse can be seen opposite, with the Regal Theatre on the corner opposite it.

Motor vehicles are parked on either side of the street and a sign 'Motor Rank' is attached to a telephone pole near a pavement telephone box.
