Overview

World War Two era Royal Air Force sterling silver, diamonté and enamel sweetheart brooch.
It features detailed outspread pilot wings with diamontés on the upper egdes flanking a voided central wreath containing the letters 'RAF' with blue enamel interiors, surmounted by a King's Crown with red enamel detailing.
The words 'STERLING' and 'ENGLAND' are impressed into the reverse.
It has a pin clasp with rotating swivel lock for attachment.

Historical information

This sweetheart brooch is one of many produced and sold to servicemen to give to their loved ones during wartime.
