Royal Air Force cap badge with paper and cloth backing

Overview

World War Two era Royal Air Force metal cap badge with paper and cloth backing.
It features a voided laurel wreath with the letters 'RAF' in the centre, surmounted by a King's Crown. A card backing is attached to the badge, with the area in the centre covered with red metallic foil paper, some of which has been damaged over time.
The reverse has two copper lugs through which a split pin would be inserted for attachment. A piece of bright blue, coarse weaved fabric has been cut to fit the outline of the badge and is affixed to the reverse. It has a small hole in the centre.
