TRAY, DRESSING TABLE, LACQUERED.
Rectangular wooden lacquered tray. A slit in either end of the raised sides enables tray to be carried. The background is black lacquer. There is a border of stylised leaves and flowers done in autumn shades. At the centre is an oriental scene showing two storks in flight over a landscape with trees. This tray was used to display a hand mirror, brush and comb and was used as a dressing table set together with a lacquered glove box [92.62ab] and handkerchief box [92.63ab] by the donor's mother.
