POWDER BOWL, XYLONITE, WITH SEPARATE LID.

Overview

Honey-coloured flattened spherical bowl standing on three round knobs. The lid forms an almost identical top half that fits into the bottom half. The lid is surmounted by a knob with a pointed top. Meant for powder, together with powder puff, but was often used to store trinkets, etc. Probably part of dressing table set of which the other pieces are missing. On the base is stamped 'Made in England.'
