1968 Western Australian State Baseball Team cap
A 1968 Western Australian State Baseball Team cap made of black cotton fabric. Embroidered in yellow thread on the front of the crown are the letters 'W.A.' above two crossed baseball bats and a baseball. The top of the crown has black metal eyelets for ventilation. The cap is lined with a black and white houndstooth-patterned cotton fabric, and a brown vinyl sweatband. The visor has green cotton lining. The cap owner's name is hand-written under the visor.
The 1968 Australian national baseball competition was the 29th Claxton Shield Series. It was held at Holloway Field in Brisbane, Queensland from July 25 to August 4. The participants were South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and Queensland. Victoria won the championships for the 9th time.
