In 1996/97 Perth Heat won their 2nd Australian Baseball League Championship. It was the 8th occasion that Western Australia had won the Claxton Shield trophy.
This poster was donated to the Baseball WA Museum & Archives by the family of Scott Steed, a Perth Heat player from 1985/86 to 1995, and an inaugural Baseball WA Hall of Fame inductee.
The item has historic and social significance as it contains images of Western Australian baseballers at the start of their team's journey to winning their second national trophy. The poster contains information of significance to researchers, is in excellent condition and comes with impeccable provenance.
