F.W. Koeppe Supply Store
F.W. Koeppe Supply Store on the corner of Bay View Terrace and Claremont Avenue, Claremont WA. The brick store has a corner doorway, and a display window facing each street, surrounded by decorative white washed quoins.
In the pediment and on the fanlight above the door are [F.W.KOEPPE] and [SUPPLY STORE]. To the left of the doorway are a lad, a dark coloured dog and a man. Standing on the footpath under the verandah are F.W. Koeppe, in light coloured suit, and beside him is Adam Armstrong in dark suit. On the right, standing on the roadway, is the delivery man, Roger Davies, next to a horse and cart. Behind the shop is weatherboard accommodation and to the left is the adjacent house on Bay View Terrace.
This was the second shop owned and run by F.W. Koeppe. The first shop was located on the Perth-Fremantle Road between Leura Avenue and Mary Street. Claremont Avenue was the section of the Perth-Fremantle Road that passed through Claremont. The Perth-Fremantle Road was renamed Stirling Highway in 1932 after the first Governor of Western Australia, Admiral Sir James Stirling
